This is why I'm getting a PS3 after I get a Wii. Pure power.

So far the PS3 has not impressed me at all, my core gaming attraction is racing games. The XBox 360 has Forza 2 (which is to be launched later this year) the PS3 has...Gran Turismo HD. Which is nothing more than a rehash of Gran Turismo 4 upconverted to HD resolutions. I do not want a rehash, if anything what would've caught my attention was a rehash of GT2, seeing as how I believe GT2 was the best Gran Turismo to date.
Furthermore, I honestly haven't seen one title that interested me. You could say Guns of the Patriots is THE PS3 game to get, but when you've got Forza 2, Too Human, and Gears of War...how could you go wrong?
I will keep my option open, though...maybe Gran Turismo 5 will be much more promising, because we all know GT or rather Polyphony Digital has a history of releasing "concepts" before they preview their actual product.
...Let's hope.

Sony is very arrogant this time around. Moreso than ever before. SCE President Ken Kitaragi said that PS3 games will cost anywhere from $60-100. While $60-70 is the most likely price range for PS3 games, I wouldn't be surprised if they do cost upwards to $100 for the big titles. The best plan, however, would be a tiered system of prices wherein big-name titles would be the most expensive ($70-100), other titles would be of average current price ($50-70) and lesser titles would be $50 and under.
I don't know, though. With a console that costs $600, Sony may have ruined there chances of winning this generation. I mean, there's no point in getting the $500 model unless you don't plan to get an HDTV until the next generation of consoles comes around. Lack of HDMI, memory/flash card support, among other features, basically means the $500 model is shit. It has a Blu-ray player? Big whoop. Without HDMI support Blu-ray movies and games will never show at 1080p. They'll be downgraded by the player to 540-720p, which the player will do anyway if you don't have an HDCP-compliant television or monitor. e.e
Another thing, none of the games will look as good as the original videos shown at E305 - that we all already know. Also, most of the games shown at E306 will likely not be launch titles. Even the few that were "confirmed" launch titles will likely end up getting delayed for the simple fact that the PS3 is still an incomplete machine. Sony has come out to claim that their intention is not to "win" this generation, but to "grow the market." This is a safe card that Sony can call on in the event that the PS3 does not dominate this generation, much like Nintendo's safe card that the Wii is not in competition with the PS3 and 360, but is in a league of its own, doing its own thing.
I hope everyone who isn't a spoiled brat or a rich rapper that plans to get a PS3 at or soon after launch is ready to spend half their paycheck or more. $650 just for the console (tax included). That's something special, there. A lot of money.
Don't get me wrong, I'll definitely get a PS3 some day, when the price drops at least $300; but, frankly, the only reason to get a PS3, IMO, is the fact that it will (supposedly) come with Linux and can be coded on. We'll see how many more promises Sony will fail to deliver on come launch day, November 17th.

It's been such a while since I've last posted anything new on this dear forum, and as long as it's been it seems just as yesterday; nothing has really changed in this seventh generation of gaming consoles.
Are you asking yourself - "Whatever is this guy talking about?" Allow me to retort, while the PS3 has seen some good sales, the Xbox 360 and the Nintendo Wii have walked all over it, the latter of which has walked over both the 360 and the PS3. It has come to a point where even Nintendo is bewildered by the Wii's raw success rate. That just goes to show that power isn't everything (despite Sony's endless intent to prove otherwise) and on top of that, the PS3 still lacks a solid title that could act as it's "staple" purchase, so to speak.
There's still time for Sony to get back in the game and at least attempt to gain a significant share in all of this, but as it appears now the duel is between the Wii and the 360; while the PS3 is watching from the bleachers.

I've gotta say, you were right. The PS3 is like that big fat German kid in Willy Wonka who get sucked up into that tube. He had the golden ticket but he squandered it by jumping into the big chocolate lake.
If you got that analogy, PM me.
But in all seriousness, you're right, Nintendo has done an excellent job of marketing and has really succeeded in bringing its product right to its targeted market. By doing that, it has surpassed both the 360 and the PS3. I'd say that the market is different for the Wii and the 360 but you Nintendo fanboys would kill me with your Wii Communism.
