This may be a little late, but Doom 3 isn't exactly all old...not just yet. Besides, Doom is bad arse game any day of the week.
Being that I played Quake 4 before this, Doom 3 reminds me a lot of it - In fact Doom 3 seems like the spin-off and not vice-versa. Wierd.
Anyway comments wanted, on the game or what you think Doom 4, or just....Doom in general should be like in the coming ages.

I wonder why so much of our current press gave this game poor reviews (or.. relatively).

Well, I can't answer that. What I can say is it's a pretty scary game, it doesn't scare me as much as it used to...which is good. By my standards I'd say it's a pretty awesome game and id chose the right engine to spawn Quake IV.

I don't know man, Doom 3 kind of irked me in that it just didn't live up to what it could've been.
Saying that.. - I still haven't played it - Hahahhaa.

You should give it a run, it's a pretty good game. The storyline isn't exactly "gripping" for long time comfort, but it's good to the touch. If you've played Quake IV already, don't bother playing Doom 3.
...Because you'll end up like me eventually, not playing it. XD

There you go - I guess if I've got an extra.. whatever it's costing now.. I'll definitely pick it up.
Seeing as though I don't have an extra anything at the moment, we'll have to wait until it shows up on one of those Abandonware sites. In about a decade.

No, actually now that you bring that up - you could download it on the program...what's it called? Oh yes, Direct2Drive.
There you go, free and free....maybe I should've thought of that. Damnit.

Isn't that considered illegal?

No. If it was I don't think sites like Gamespot would repetitively rub it all in your face. It's 100% legal, well maybe not exactly 100%, but it's legal nonetheless.

So it's all free? Nothing's free man, there's gotta be some catch to it.

No catch. I've used it before to download Star Wars: Jedi Outcast, the download is shit long...so I guess you could consider that to be the catch. If Direct2Drive does require a fee, that could mean one of two things....
1. It's changed since I used it. 2. I'm getting it confused with something else that's just like it.
In any case, I'll find out and I'll let you know.

Yeah, because I figure that either:
a) INTENSE SPYWAREADWARETROJAN IMPLANTS ON UR COMPOOTR
or
b) Corrupt downloads each and everytime.
Hopefully Doom 3 can come through, I'd get it that way.

Well, I brought Doom 3 from Gamestop for $19.99 which came out to $20.64 or $21.64, I forget which of the two. Either way it's shit cheap.
It isn't F.E.A.R or no Quake IV, but it's definitely the thing to buy if you're in for a new game and low on cash due to previous purchases of whatever kind.

If it's twenty bucks I'll seriously consider buying it.

There's also a Doom 3 Resurrection or whatever it's called, it's also $20 bucks...not sure if it's different than the original, though.
