The actual title is supposed to be "What's the difference between a GPU and Video Card?"
I've been asked this question so many times, and I've seen people, or rather I've heard people ask this question. The answer is really, really simple actually.
A GPU, or Graphics Processing Unit is the actual chip that contains the BIOS, instruction sets, etc...The GPU itself is a microprocessor specifically designed to draw 3D graphics, in which it takes some of the load off of the CPU.
A Video Card is not the same thing as a GPU, a GPU sends a signal or rather it operates very much like a CPU does. A Video Card operates through a PCB on which the GPU is integrated. PCB or Printed Circuit Board sends the signal through conductive pathways between the AGP, PCI or PCI-E slots via the PCBs backside.
So, there it is...
However, don't take this literal as the situation might arise where two people are talking about their PCs or whatever and one of them might say "My video card pwnz." and the other might say "My GPU is better than yours." Both of them are right, it's just one of them refers to the entire card as a whole and the other only refers to the processing unit.
