According to The Inquirer (not the supermarket tabloid) ATI is ready to release the GTO, which has been promptly renamed GT. It's due on May 9th (next week) and it will go for an SRP of $350, the GT is going to be based on the R580 architecture, and will go up against Nvidia's 7900 GT.
The specs are pretty lofty and quite the type of thing for those of us who can't afford the high-end X1900 XT or XTX, Best Buy has already began and sold the first stock they had - a week before the actual scheduled release.
Here's a brief outline of the specs:
R580-based (not RV570 as rumored for the "GTO") 575MHz core clock speed 1200MHz (1.2GHz) GDDR-3 VRAM 36 pixel shader processors (as opposed to 48 for the XT and XTX) Shader Model 3.0 support 256MB main memory (as opposed to 512MB for the XT and XTX)
