I should post this on the other forum I go to, but I doubt they'll listen.
I do have a reputation though of not liking the Xbox, but I'm not entirely against it. I'd still play the console if I had a chance and I look about 360 news once in a while, just to see what goes. But mostly what gives me that reputation is the fact that I constantly say negative things about it.
The thing is, I didn't like Microsoft's marketing ploy. Although that's probably not a fair statement because I didn't really keep up to date, but after looking at a list of things Peter Moore said the 360 would deliver, well to me I would take that very seriously, and whatever Peter Moore said, hasn't delivered. Of course, people will argue that it's too early in the game to say that any significant changes (both in graphics and audio) were made from the XBox to the XBox 360. I beg to differ on that.
But in any case, I'm POed that nobody is using the 360 to its fullest. However, that's within reason. If PC games can't utilize multi-threading, then I won't expect consoles to. But the thing is, the GPU in the 360 is comparable to a X1800XT. I've seen Call of Duty 2 and some of MS's quality standards. Apparently all games have to have a minimum FSAA of 2x, which I can almost see, but CoD2 on 360 is still suffering from jaggies. But the sad thing is, I'm also willing to bet that it's still running trilinear filtering seeing the Elder Scrolls 4 screen shots.
In any case, developers haven't really taken full advantage of the system, despite the fact that if you put the exact same specs on a PC (maybe add another half gig of RAM), you'd have yourself a "high-end" PC.
But there's another thing that's keeping me away from the Xbox in general. Because Xbox is supported by a large American fanbase and company base, to me, it doesn't seem to make it any more different than if I was playing a PC. And even those exclusive games I could probably find a substitute on the PC (or rather avoid them, since they don't interest me). And plus, a good number of the games are rehashes of something from the last generation, or they're for the PC.
