We all know AMD to be one of the best CPUs available for a custom PC. Do you think AMD should focus on console CPU manufacturing, should they try to compete with the likes of IBM and Intel? (as far as console CPUs go that is.)

IBM is reaping the rewards of console CPU's now, considering that all of the next-gen consoles use IBM CPU's including the GCN and I believe the PS2 did as well.
But AMD should put something in. Their FX-57 killed the best thing intel had to offer back then, and it still does.

I'm sure the big Illuminati guys like Intel and IBM will find a way to red tape any attempt from AMD to enter the console CPU market. Don't forget - Intel and IBM execs sacrafice three young virgins to Lord Hasselhoff daily. They have appeased the Great One and will be blessed by his mighty trunks and the words of his sacred hymn, "Du."

I'm pretty sure you may have a point there, but just imagine if someone was bold enough to land a deal with the Intel-slayer. It could even become the first console-based CPU to have an overclock feature - how that would benefit the system or games as a whole would be left up to the designer, though.
Who knows what the future will bring, maybe in a decade (or shorter) AMD will go for even more recognition by powering a console with some uber CPU...maybe a dual-phase CPU?

I don't like Intel in the manner that they're playing bully against AMD. Though I find it amazing that AMD has more than half the market share of CPU's now (even though that's going to change once Conroe is out), and yet AMD receives absolutely zilch in the PR zone.
Intel just wants to think because it invented the microprocessor, it litterally owns it. And they won't admit HyperThreading was just a big flop.

Yeah, all those little "HT"s on the boxes really amounted to nothing.
I really -hope- that AMD gets into the console CPU market, but who knows...
Lord Hasselhoff is watching.

It should be rather easy for them to "get-in" so to say, their new AM2 or F socket Opterons would be good for this task, or maybe even the new AM2 Athlon. The only real competition they'd have is IBM's PowerPC CPUs, being that they're good performers for the most part.
As mentioned already, though...who knows...
